weekend workshop – 22-24/10/2021
Buddhists call it ‘the monkey mind’, this incessant clinging to opinions, observations, ideas, judgments and shopping lists. This busyness that keeps diverting our attention into all different directions at once and keeps it aimlessly wandering through the latest soap stories, news items and petty worries.
In this workshop we deal with the mind by putting the emphasis on ecstatic body practices, producing an upwards swirl of energy to (temporarily) erase and clear the field. Together we work through movement and energetic breathing, towards a state of deep bliss and relaxation. Letting go of all ‘important’ and incessant drives to cling to what is not there. And falling into the here and now.
Tantra often uses exalted or intensified states of the body to overcome the dominance of our mind. Not so much because the mind is something to conquer or overcome, but because a lot of our minds are programmed to cling to habitual patterns of relating and observing. Which often stands in the way of a more immediate and spontaneous experience of the self and the other.
In this workshop we start with learning a different way of breathing, using the tantric locks (bandhas) to intensify the breathing and open up the body. We will whirl, breathe and move through durational meditations into another state of consciousness.
You are welcome to join us alone or with a partner. We will often work in group or in couple, and use the senses as allies in opening up the body to another state of consciousness.
