Riding the Waves is an intensive Tantra program, in which you combine workshops, concentrated work weeks, individual mentoring sessions and invividual/shared home work. The program runs over 9 months (April 2024 – December 2024).

The emphasis of Riding the Waves, is to invite you to work together on growing as aware, engaged, connected and insightful human beings. This Path is not a passive one, you do not receive the teachings on a plate. But you will work on your own shadows and hidden desires, through difficulty and bliss, through challenges and sudden bursts of pleasure and insight.

We work with individual, couple and group meditations from the Tantric tradition, and we also add some contemporary tools to understand better what it is you are doing, and what you want to be working on.

Classical Tantra work contains

*breath work (to help you navigate your energetic flow, bringing it up and down at will)

*opening the chakra system and the inner channels (learning to move your energy through different ‘zones’, to understand that the same vital energy flow can produce very different outcomes and to be able to steer these)

*movement meditations (in which we practice the difference between willful movement and active surrender)

*Ancient Tantra Kriya Yoga (an intensive form of couple and group yoga, with pronounced breathing and repetitive movement sequences)

*energetic exchange with your partner (in which we practice moving and being moved by the other(s) without touching

*conscious touch (in which we distinguish between healing, supporting, sensual, forceful, caring, spiritual, and other touch intentions.

*voice work (moving your energetic body through the space and/or into the other(s), and using the voice as a cleansing, healing, invigorating, invoking,…. instrument).

*ritual work (using ritual forms to connect our energies and intentions).

The core of the Tantric work in this program is the transformation of the shadow side (negative emotions, blockages, energy leaks) into a source of vital energy, insight and connection. Our main tools to do this are breath, (dynamic) meditations, ritual and connection work. Please note that this is NOT a Tantric massage course.

The Contemporary tools to help us achieve this work with growing self-insight and mastery are (amongst others)

*Techniques from Focusing and Body Awareness

*The Work of Byron Katie

*Voice Dialogue and Parts work

*Consent work

*Personal safety work

Weekends and Weeks

In this program, we chose to keep the group open to outsiders during the weekend workshops, and closed to the participants of Riding the Waves for the 3 main one week ‘Kaula’ (Tantric family) weeks. During Kaula week we truly live, practice and work together. We implement the Tantric philosophy into the daily life of meditations, cooking, organising and ritual exchange.

The weekend workshops are usually focussed on one particular aspect of the Tantra practice, and as such can have very different flavours. F.e. one workshop can have the chakra system as a theme, another works on death practices, and a third one on the exchange of desire energy. But it is clear that all workshops develop within the same framework of spiritual dedication, and growing on your path.

The workshops you can choose are flexible. Since you are asked to participate in one workshop before the start of the program, to make sure we make a good match, you can opt to include this workshop as part of the program, or keep it separate. You can also choose to reserve some workshops for the period after December, if you want to keep the pace a bit slower. We do put a limit of 6 months after the end of the program to finish up your workshop load. That way you have the time to integrate what you are going through at your own pace. The reason for opening up the workshops to others is to avoid that the group gets caught in habits, and bring in new energies and challenges every time.

Mentoring

During the program, you have access to 3 individual mentorings with Elle Monk. These mentorings will be organised upon your request, and will have your personal questions and challenges as a starting point. According to your needs, Elle will work with you through Tantric techniques and/or meditations, or help you navigate your challenges with coaching or insight tools of other fields of practice.

Working at home

In between of collective work (workshops and Kaula weeks), you will also receive some tasks for personal work. These might include working with another participant. These tasks sometimes will be individual, based on your own path and needs, and sometimes collective, where everyone receives the same incentive. These home practices are very important to set up your own individual work. What we want to help you within this program, is to become independent and strong practitioners, with the necessary tools at hand to work through life’s difficulties, opportunities and challenges.

We might also choose to do recurring online check-ins with the group if needed.
